WHAT IS BEHIND THE NAME?

The Calling Voice Project (tcvp) is an inspirational and powerful name that carries the heart of African desperations, unmet needs, hunger, struggles and realities. The name emerged around early October 2007 at Mzumbe University main campus founded by Raphael Joachim Lyela, who has finished a bachelor degree of Public Administration in Human Resources Management at the university. It is a project that deals with responding to cries and pains of needful, marginalized and unprivileged people in the society. What they need, why the call and how they real are, are the core issues of the project, “calling voices”. The name was born out of deep meditation and thinking about the real issues touching the African people and the way it brings a lot of confusion on the aspect of global citizenship. Far beyond the name you can hear the voices of widows who are mistreated and marginalized, orphans who have become skeletons due to lack of food and health services, some don’t go to school because there is no fees, HIV/AIDS victims who have been left without any help and marginalized by African taboos, you can hear the voices of unemployed youth who suffer every day looking for something to do, you can hear the voices of teen girls been called mothers, think about hungry street children who struggle for a place to lay their head in the midnight and even the aged who cant even walk a mile in their farms. These are the REAL issues from the HEART of Africa bringing to the world The Calling Voice Project.
